Like many places in China, Wuzhen is no secret. Nonetheless the ancient town in split into two separate sections with the western one giving off the more authentic feeling. This is not to say that the main town can be skipped, because it just feels much more expansive. At some points it felt like walking through a town as old as Pompeii but still somehow alive. Off the river, many streets and sections are very quiet and peaceful.
